Muhammad Ali: An Interfaith Leader Before We Knew What That Was
Join IFYC President, Eboo Patel, in conversation with filmmaker, David McMahon, and public intellectual, Donna Auston, to talk about Muhammad Ali and his legacy of interfaith cooperation. Coinciding with the release of a four part film by Ken Burns, Sarah Burns & McMahon, Muhammad Ali, this dynamic group will explore the complexity of Ali, from his refusal to fight in the Vietnam War, membership in the Nation of Islam, and experience as a public figure and proud Black man in America. Now one of the most celebrated men of the last century, Muhammad Ali’s ability to connect with so many, demand more of his country, and pursue greatness has much to teach us all. View excerpts of the film here: https://www.pbs.org/kenburns/muhammad-ali/.

"Anybody who thinks they know Ali will learn a dozen new details that add complexity to both the man and the myth." –Eboo Patel writing about the film
