9/11 Town Hall: We Commemorate, We Commit
September 11, 2021 will commemorate the 20th anniversary of a profound moment in US life, the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center. As we continue to mourn the nearly 3,000 people who died, 6,000 who were injured, and those first responders and families with long lasting effects, we also redouble our commitment to define our own story and future. Join Eboo Patel in conversation with civic leaders, sharing personal experiences and stories from their unique perspectives, each affected by that day and its aftermath as hate crimes against religious minorities in the US rose. These inspiring individuals have committed themselves to fostering a sense of belonging and healing, building an America where all contribute and all can thrive, not based on fear of the “other” but on a commitment to a not yet achieve aspiration.

Moderator: Eboo Patel, Founder and President of Interfaith Youth Core
Special Remarks: Sonal Shah, Founding President, The Asian American Foundation
- Alia Bilal, Deputy Director at Inner-City Muslim Action Network
- John Inazu, Professor of Law and Religion at Washington University in St. Louis and Executive Director of The Carver Project
- Valarie Kaur, Founder of Revolutionary Love Project
- Dr. Robert Klitzman, Professor of Clinical Psychiatry and Director of Masters in Bioethics Program, Columbia University

This town hall will focus on questions from participants, and will look to the future, asking what is possible, and what we can build together. All participants will receive a We Commemorate, We Commit toolkit with resources and tools to mobilize your own religious, civic, and educational institutions and communities to continue to build Interfaith America.

We are grateful for the generous support of The Asian American Foundation. Registering for this e-mail means opting-in for IFYC's communications.
